Introduction

Kumkum ecotourism is one of the touist highlights of Palangkaraya. It's located near the Kahayan Bridge the Palangkaraya landmark. As its location is near the center of Palangkaraya, Kumkum ecotourism is frequently visited year round.

Most people see Kumkum Ecotourism as the mini zoo since there are several animals living here, like crocodiles, bears and monkeys. There are huts surrounded by rubber trees here which you can rent. You can enjoy the water of Kahayan River flow by while either having a meal or checking your smart phone or laptop with the free wifi service available. Renting a hut will cost IDR 10.000/hour at normal days and IDR 20.000/hour on Sunday or holidays.

The places are connected by a wooden path built on the Kahayan River. You can seat freely on the edge of the pathway or just walk around the park.

On some days in the evening some live music is performed on the Flexiholic stage.

Palangkaraya is the capital of Kalimantan Tengah Province. Palangkaraya is with an area of 2,678 square km the largest city in Indonesia when looking at land area. Recently, in the year 2010, some Jakarta politician had the idea to move the capital of Indonesia to Palangkaraya where there is still lots of space for development and traffic conditions are pretty good. The idea was shelved for the time being though.
